A reading

Seismic, in one sitting.

Technology, the founder, the money, and why an encrypted L1 is the point, not a side quest.

  1. 01
    The problem

    Most chains are glass houses.

Every salary, rent payment, and credit line on a public ledger is sitting on an explorer. That is fine for trading. It is a dealbreaker for real finance.

Banks, lenders, and payroll cannot ship on glass. Forced transparency is the bottleneck, not throughput.

  2. 02
    What it is

Seismic is an encrypted L1 built for fintech.

Privacy lives in the protocol, not in a wallet plugin. Transactions are private by default: transfers, loans, cash accounts, payroll.

The line they actually use: โ€œEncrypt all chains.โ€

  3. 03
    How it works

EVM on the outside. A TEE on the inside.

Nodes run inside Intel TDX, a Trusted Execution Environment. Code and data in the enclave cannot be read by the host or the operator.

Developers write Solidity with shielded types: suint, sbool, saddress. Calldata is encrypted from the client to the enclave. Plaintext never hits the mempool or the explorer.

Blocks in under a second. One block finality. Custom consensus called Summit. You keep the Ethereum mental model; the chain hides the sensitive bits.

  4. 04
    The bet

    Why not just zero knowledge?

ZK proves a computation was correct. It struggles when many apps need to compute over shared private state: payroll, credit, and cash accounts.

Seismicโ€™s wager: secure hardware first, so composability does not die for privacy. TEE is a tradeoff, not a magic trick. Name it and move.

  5. 05
    Founder

    Lyron Co Ting Keh.

Stanford CS and math. a16z met him through Dan Boneh, who called him one of the brightest undergraduates he had ever taught.

Grew up in the Philippines, then Los Angeles. First company. No official cofounder. Early days were him and a whiteboard. The engineering bench now draws from Wintermute, Google X, and Apple R&D.

  6. 06
    Capital

    a16z led twice. $17M in.

March 2025: $7M seed, led by a16z crypto. November 2025: $10M, a16z led again. Eight months, two rounds, same lead.

Also in the cap table: Polychain, 1kx, dao5, Amber Group, TrueBridge, LayerZero, Alliance.

No token has been announced. Do not invent one. The stated path is infrastructure fees for fintechs, not extraction from a ticker.

  7. 07
    Who is building

This is a fintech chain, not a DEX chain.

Brookwell: cash accounts, stablecoins and fiat, yield. First app officially built on Seismic (September 2025).

Cred Protocol: private credit scoring. Reah: fiat and stablecoin treasury for Southeast Asian SMBs. Avvio: named multi-currency accounts for global earners.

The pattern: companies that cannot leak customer data.

  8. 08
    What to watch

Narrative becomes infrastructure when three things land.

Mainnet volume that is not demo traffic. More licensed fintechs, not more prototype toys. TEE attestation that still holds as the validator set grows.

If those three land, โ€œencrypted L1 for financeโ€ stops being a thread and starts being rails.

Seismic Ecosystem

Projects confirmed to be partnered with or built on Seismic, the encrypted L1 blockchain.

Live Fintech Partners

Brookwell

Live

The first app officially built on Seismic, launched September 2025. A modern cash account that lets you move between stablecoins and fiat, pay rent and bills directly, and earn DeFi yield, all powered by Seismic's private rails.

Cred Protocol

Live

Seismic's second confirmed fintech partner. Provides on-chain credit scoring, reporting and monitoring, giving lenders real risk data while keeping the underlying activity off the public chain.

Blend

Live

Confirmed directly by Seismic's own team. A treasury-as-a-service platform for fintechs, using Seismic to power private multi-currency accounts, money market instruments and local pay-in rails.

DashX

Live

Confirmed directly by Seismic's own team. Powers cross-border payments between the US and India, moving money over Seismic's private rails instead of a public chain.

Prism

Live

Confirmed directly by Seismic's own team. A neobank for digital nomads in Southeast Asia who hold visas ineligible for local bank accounts, letting them top up from their home bank and spend anywhere that accepts QR codes.

Reah

Live

Confirmed directly by Seismic's own team. One platform for fiat and stablecoin treasuries, global cards and local payout rails, built for SMBs in Southeast Asia moving money across borders.

Sedona

LiveMigrating

Originally confirmed and built on Seismic: a trading-first neobank bringing the simplicity of apps like Coinbase or Venmo to DeFi. As of July 2026 Sedona is migrating away from Seismic to Arbitrum, adopting Fhenix's FHE encryption instead of Seismic's TEE model.

Specie

Live

Confirmed directly by Seismic's own team. A single account for global trade businesses, led by repeat founder and ex-Morgan Stanley Frankie DiGiacomo, replacing the multiple bank accounts importers/exporters usually juggle with one private trade finance account.

Via

Live

Confirmed directly by Seismic's own team, with an official joint "VIA | Seismic" graphic. A stablecoin-first global account for internet-native businesses, using Seismic to power private multi-currency accounts, cross-border payments and flexible credit lines.

Reported by the Community (Not Yet Independently Verified)

Vend Money

Unverified

Credit infrastructure for the machine economy: turns machine activity and revenue into structured operating records, the foundation for underwriting, monitoring and financing. Named as a Seismic partner in community sources, though not yet confirmed on Seismic's own official channels.

Avvio

Unverified

A global money app for accounts, payments, savings, investing and self-custody in 120+ countries. Avvio's own team says it runs on Seismic to keep balances and identity data encrypted, but this has not yet been confirmed on Seismic's own official channels.

Prototype Apps by the Seismic Team

FOLIO

Prototype

Participate in a global, encrypted pay-it-forward chain. Gamified giving with prize pools, built as an open-source Seismic demo.

RIFF

Prototype

An experimental AMM that hides price data and turns encrypted price movement into music. The team calls it "listen to a bonding curve."

NIBBLE

Prototype

Earn encrypted revenue share in your favorite restaurant. Loyal customers get a cut of on-chain revenue without exposing the figures publicly.

LEVEL

Prototype

Stabilize your DePIN service. Trade or hedge based on belief rather than exposed price data, another open-source Seismic prototype.

DWELL

Prototype

Pay your rent with a yield-bearing stablecoin. Rent flows through Seismic's encrypted rails while your balance keeps earning, another open-source Seismic prototype.

FOLIO, RIFF, NIBBLE, LEVEL and DWELL are open-source demo apps from Seismic's own team, sharing Seismic's official X and GitHub instead of having their own.
"Unverified" projects have only turned up in community sources so far. Treat them as leads, not confirmed partners.
Last manually reviewed against x.com/SeismicSys and independent press, September 2026. Subject to change as the roadmap evolves.
